Anita Jantz, an award winning artist has been painting professionally since 1989. She is known for her use of vibrant colors. Her favorite choice of mediums is watercolor and pastel. Floral and landscape scenes are her preference, showing her love for nature.
Anita’s art, “Sunset Road”, has been chosen as the featured art for the Longmont Rhythm on the River festival, July 2010. Her watercolor, “Spirit of Summer” took second place in the St. Stephens Art Guild show, April 2010, Longmont, CO.
Her exhibitions include showings at the Lafayette library; YMCA, Boulder; the University of Colorado, Boulder; Third Avenue Gallery, Cherry Creek, Denver; Cannon Mine Coffee Company, Boulder Outlook Hotel, the Muse Gallery and numerous art shows with the Louisville Art Association including the National Art show in September 2008. She is a juried member in the East Boulder County Artists and Longmont Studio Tours. Her paintings have also been juried into the national Richard Schmid auction for the last four consecutive years. She was also juried into the 2008 Louisville National Show. Her paintings are displayed in numerous venues in Boulder County.
Anita has received numerous commissions and her art can be found in private collections both locally and nationally.
Anita also teaches watercolor, offering workshops at various locations in Boulder County as well as classes and private lessons in her studio.
Artist’s statement: “I paint what excites me. I love nature. I see color abounding everywhere and I love to enhance these colors in my paintings for the viewers to see what I see. I strive to record and make permanent those things in life which are fragile and fleeting. I hope to give the viewer a new visual experience of what nature has to offer.”
