Christine is a native of Newport Beach, california. She spent her childhood outdoors, in and around the water, surrounded by the beauty of Orange County. She won her first award for art in the second grade and grew up knowing that art was in her blood. Influenced by her Colorado native grandparents and old ties to Tesuque, New Mexico, Chris learned to honor the landscape and Native American treasures of the American West. She followed her mother into the arts and her father into all things nautical. Christine worked as a naval draftsman, illustrator and yacht interior designer throughout high school and college. Graduating with a BA in Interior Design, she worked many years as an entrepreneur in the antiques and building industries. With a lifelong interest in fine jewelry, Chris studied the art of metalsmithing, becoming a fine jeweler. Having won many awards for her art and jewelry, she knew from early childhood that her art training would one day culminate in the pursuit of excellence as an oil painter. Christine's love for antiques and her Western heritage show in the subject matter in her paintings. Placing the greatest value on tenacious study and academic training, Christine has continued her lifelong quest for excellence studying with great artists/mentors including Kevin Macpherson, Matt Smith, Scott Christensen, Sherrie McGraw and David Leffel. Christine and her cousins remain owners of a Centennial property in Weld County, Colorado.

Artist's statement
I am very lucky to be a lifelong resident of the birthplace of the California plein air movement, where art has always been a large part of my life. Inspired by the California Impressionists, my Western heritage and the early Dutch painters who captured light and drama, the natural beauty in the moment, I strive to translate the beauty of a still life or my outdoor surroundings onto my canvas. My goal is to capture in my paintings the natural beauty of light and a look, a feeling and a bit of mystery that will resonate in an emotional response with the viewer.
