Goals
To paint from my heart
To touch people through passion in my painting
To challenge myself to be the best that I can be
To believe in myself
Artist Statement
My paintings come from the heart and are personal as well as emotional journeys for me. My goal is to continue using my paintings to bring joy to people who view my work. If a painting speaks to someone, I have accomplished what I set out to do in my art.
Biography
Art became Maryjo’s passion and healing journey after a breast cancer diagnosis. She finds inspiration in all things “antique” and finds joy in painting objects filled with special memories.
Maryjo developed her artistic voice through local southern California artists George Kyle, Jeff Horn and Jackie Kamin, as well as with contemporary artists David Leffel, Sherrie McGraw and Casey Baugh.
In addition to donating paintings to the Richard Schmid Fine Art Auction, Maryjo donates her art to several organizations, including Healing Odyssey www.healingodyssey.org) and Breast Cancer Survivors (www.bcsurvivors.org).
